The piece is titled “The Land of Tomorrow,” which is the meaning of the name Kentucky, thought to derive from a Native American word, possibly of Iroquoian origin. Although its linguistic roots are linked to the Iroquois, the region was inhabited and actively defended by the Shawnee tribe, for whom this land was home. His presence symbolizes the deep connection of Indigenous peoples with this land.
